How to Redeem Free Nights at Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach

Posted by on Mar 11, 2014 in Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, Credit Cards, Hilton, Hotel | 0 comments

When I reviewed our free stay at the Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach, I mentioned that we were able to redeem the 2 free weekend nights that came with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve credit card. Booking the free nights, however, is not as simple as going to the Hilton HHonors website and reserving your stay, because redeeming the free weekend night certificates requires calling the Hilton HHonors hotline. But more importantly, it looks like the Hilton Bentley could be making award nights hard to search for so you’ll have to use a workaround.   Redeem Free Nights at Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach Step 1: Go to the Hilton...

A&S Foreign Exchange Has the Best FX Rates in NYC

Posted by on Mar 5, 2014 in Barclays Arrival, Credit Cards, Miscellaneous | 0 comments

When traveling internationally for your honeymoon or other trips, I highly recommend getting a no foreign exchange fee credit card, such as the Barclays Arrival credit card, which offers a fantastic signup bonus. You should also exchange for some foreign currency ahead of time, because it’s easy to get hit with ATM fees overseas or worse yet, get gouged by currency services providers, such as Travelex. If you are based in New York City, I recommend A&S Foreign Exchange for your FX needs. They are conveniently located near Penn Station at 357 7th Avenue and in my opinion, offers the best exchange rates in NYC.     A&S Foreign...

Top Cash Back Offers New Payment Option with 5% Bonus

Posted by on Mar 3, 2014 in Amazon, Cash Back, Citi Forward, Credit Cards, Mr. Rebates, Top Cash Back | 0 comments

If you’ve read my introduction to cash back on everything, you know that Top Cash Back is one of my favorite cash back portals, because they tend to offer the highest cash back rates for online shopping you would normally do anyways. Now, Top Cash Back has introduced a new payment option in the form of an Amazon gift card. By choosing this option, users get a 5% bonus.   Top Cash Back and Amazon Gift Card For example, I recently decided to cash out my own Top Cash Back account, where I’ve earned $90 by simply clicking through Top Cash Back when I start my normal online shopping. I...

Hotel Review: Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach Part 2

Posted by on Feb 26, 2014 in Barclays Arrival, Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, Credit Cards, Hilton, Hotel | 0 comments

Last time, I reviewed the Partial Ocean View One Bedroom Suite at the Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach. As great as the rooms are, the best part of the hotel is actually its location and beach club. Maybe it’s just me, but I really like that you can be in the ocean one second, grab something in your room 5 minutes later, then be back in your beach chair shortly after that. In addition, the restaurant, gym, and spa facilities are also nice.   How You Can Do It We booked two nights using the 2 free weekend nights that comes with the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve credit card. The...

Hotel Review: Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach One Bedroom Suite

Posted by on Feb 24, 2014 in Barclays Arrival, Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve, Credit Cards, Hilton, Hotel | 0 comments

Because our recent trip to Aruba and Turks & Caicos were both cancelled due to weather, my wife and I decided to do a makeup trip by heading down to Miami’s South Beach for a weekend. Being a major airport hub, Miami has so many incoming flights that it’s easily accessible from many cities across the United States. The nice beach and vivid cultural scene make it a great honeymoon destination for those seeking an active nightlife rather than a low-key atmosphere. We stayed at the Hilton Bentley Miami South Beach, which is known as the hotel where the Kardashians stayed at while filming Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami. I...

Barclays Arrival Minimum Spending Requirement Increasing to $3,000 in 90 Days

Posted by on Feb 21, 2014 in Barclays Arrival, Credit Cards | 0 comments

Previously, the Barclays Arrival credit card offered one of the best signup bonuses available. You could earn 44,000 miles (worth $440 towards travel) after spending just $1,000 in 90 days, and you can read about all the other perks and benefits in my analysis of the credit card. When deals are too good, however, they tend to change and recently, the Barclays Arrival minimum spending requirement increased to $3,000 in 90 days.     Barclays Arrival Minimum Spending Requirement Increased While the minimum spending requirement increase to $3,000 is certainly a negative development, it’s really not that big a deal. It’s still very easy to use Amazon Payments to meet...

Filing Taxes as a Newly Married Couple

Posted by on Feb 19, 2014 in Miscellaneous | 0 comments

I’ve been a bit MIA lately since my wife and I were in Miami Beach for a weekend, but also because I’ve been busy filing our taxes for 2013. Filing taxes as a newly married couple is particularly challenging, because you’ll encounter new rules, and a lot of numbers change. That’s why I recommend changing your name properly as quickly as possible to minimize headaches come tax season.     I’m old-fashioned and do my taxes manually via the IRS recommended Free File Fillable Forms, but that’s only because I like to understand every single number on the tax return. For most newly married couples, I recommend using a...

100,000 Miles and Admirals Club Membership Via Citi Executive AAdvantage Credit Card

Posted by on Feb 12, 2014 in Airline, American Airlines, Barclays Arrival, Citi Executive AAdvantage, Credit Cards | 0 comments

A special, promotional offer for the Citi Executive AAdvantage credit card has been floating around the Internet lately. The offer is targeted to guests who visit an AA Admirals Club and offers a great signup bonus including 100,000 American Airlines miles after spending $10,000 within 3 months and Admirals Club membership for lounge access. On the application page, however, it asks for a 6-digit referral code and a 3-letter airport code. While people have been successful in applying for the card without the referral information, I know some people like to have the application fully completed and only want to apply if they feel it’s official. As a result,...

Moving Company Cost: RVS Moving & Delivery Service

Posted by on Feb 7, 2014 in Moving Company, Queens | 0 comments

Many of the previous moving companies I’ve analyzed so far, such as Lightning Van Moving and Get There Moving, charge an hourly rate. That’s great for some people, my wife and I included, who don’t have a lot of stuff, because we moved right after getting married. For those that are moving after being married for a year or so, however, you’ll probably find that you have accumulated a lot of items in that first year or two. As a result, a flat rate moving company might be a better choice, and RVS Moving & Delivery Service only does flat rate moves.   Moving Company: RVS Moving & Delivery Service...

Getting Hyatt Diamond Challenge More Than Once

Posted by on Feb 5, 2014 in Hawaii, Hotel, Hyatt | 0 comments

If you are not aware, you can get free Hyatt diamond status with a Hyatt diamond trial. Hyatt diamond status is Hyatt’s highest status tier, which provides benefits, such as free breakfast, free Regency Club/Grand Club access, and free room upgrades. After undergoing a Hyatt diamond challenge during our honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, I can tell you that experiencing diamond status was fantastic and helped save a lot of money. The only problem is each Hyatt Gold Passport member is entitled to just one Hyatt diamond challenge in their lifetime . . . or is that really the case? After some recent emails with Hyatt, I think...
