Wedding Photographer Cost: Albert Cheung Photography #3

My last two posts analyzed Albert Cheung Photography’s The Essential package and The Elaborate package. His style is self-described as photojournalistic, which is a popular choice these days. If you already have a wedding day photographer selected and only need an engagement shoot photographer, Albert Cheung Photography offers The Engagement package, and here is what the cost breakdown looks like:   Wedding Photographer: Albert Cheung Photography Date Price Quoted: November 2013 Wedding Date Quoted For: N/A Package Name: The Engagement Assistant: No Package Fee: $600 Travel Fee: $0 (within a 50 mile radius) Tax: 0% Gratuity: 0% Total Wedding Photographer Cost: $600   The Main Point The Engagement package includes 2 hours of photography, and you can choose as many shooting locations as you wish. Due to time and travel constraints, however, I wouldn’t recommend choosing more than 2 locations. You also receive 150 retouched photos and as with the wedding day packages, The Engagement package includes all photos delivered electronically and an online gallery to purchase prints and books....

Wedding Photographer Cost: Albert Cheung Photography #2

The Elaborate is Albert Cheung Photography’s higher end package. While slightly more than The Essential package, it does come with more benefits and a second photographer. Here is the cost breakdown for The Elaborate package:   Wedding Photographer: Albert Cheung Photography Date Price Quoted: November 2013 Wedding Date Quoted For: 2013 (Saturday) Package Name: The Elaborate Assistant: Yes (2 photographers total, one of them being Albert Cheung) Package Fee: $5,000 Travel Fee: $0 (within a 50 mile radius) Tax: 0% Gratuity: 0% Total Wedding Photographer Cost: $5,000   The Main Point As mentioned, this package offers 10 hours of wedding coverage, but a second photographer will assist as well for the full 10 hours. In addition to all the benefits of The Essential package, you also get 1000 photos instead of 700, and you get to select between 150 4″ x 6″ or 100 5″ x 7″ prints. In the previous post detailing Albert Cheung Photography’s The Essential package, I forgot to mention that you have the option of...

Wedding Photographer Cost: Albert Cheung Photography

I don’t have any hard statistics but from the information I’ve gathered by asking married friends here and there, many say wedding photography is the one area decided to not skimp on, and it was a great decision. To them, it was more important than the venue, the florist, etc. Their reasoning is that after it’s all over, the photos are the main memory of your wedding day, and it makes sense. With that in mind, here is what the cost breakdown looks like for Albert Cheung Photography, a photographer that is quite popular amongst my friends:   Wedding Photographer: Albert Cheung Photography Date Price Quoted: November 2013 Wedding Date Quoted For: 2013 (Saturday) Package Name: The Essential Assistant: No Package Fee: $3,750 Travel Fee: $0 (within a 50 mile radius) Tax: 0% Gratuity: 0% Total Wedding Photographer Cost: $3,750   The Main Point The Essential is Albert Cheung Photography’s base package, offering up to 10 hours of wedding coverage. The package includes at the very minimum 700 retouched...

Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost: Ai Sakai #2

In the previous post, I talked about the prices for having Ai Sakai service your hair and makeup for a wedding in the summer. And while wedding venues often offer discounts for off-peak season, you won’t see that happen as often for photographers, videographers, and hair and makeup artists. so I found it really interesting that Ai Sakai does offer an off-peak season rate. Here is what the cost breakdown looks like:   Wedding Hair and Makeup Artist: Ai Sakai Date Price Quoted: February 2013 Wedding Date Quoted For: Off-peak season (January to March, November to December) Price Assumptions: Includes airbrush application for bride and 4 bridesmaids Assistant: No Airbrush Application: Yes Estimated Preparation Time: ~2 hours for bride, 1.5 hours per bridesmaid Package Fee: $1,010 Trial Fee: $180 Engagement Shoot Fee: $200 Travel Fee: ~$75 Tax: 8.875% Gratuity: 20% Total Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost: $1,914   The Main Point The final cost is $65 less than the normal rate since the package fee is $50 less, and you...

Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost: Ai Sakai

Ai Sakai may be a hair specialist, but she does some great makeup work as well. Located down on Clinton St., you could put your name down for a table at the Clinton Street Bakery, run over to Ai Sakai to get your hair and makeup done for the engagement shoot, then still make it back in time for some world-famous pancakes :). Ok, maybe not, but the idea is nice. Anyways, here is what the cost breakdown looks like for Ai Sakai:   Wedding Hair and Makeup Artist: Ai Sakai Date Price Quoted: February 2013 Wedding Date Quoted For: July 2013 (Saturday) Price Assumptions: Includes airbrush application for bride and 4 bridesmaids Assistant: No Airbrush Application: Yes Estimated Preparation Time: ~2 hours for bride, 1.5 hours per bridesmaid Package Fee: $1,060 Trial Fee: $180 Engagement Shoot Fee: $200 Travel Fee: ~$75 Tax: 8.875% Gratuity: 20% Total Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost: $1,979   The Main Point Like Reiko Utsugi, Ai Sakai was easy to work with over email and also...
