Priceline Rewards Visa No Longer Offers 2% Cash Back

Previously, I mentioned that the Priceline Rewards Visa is the best 2% cash back credit card. Unfortunately, the credit card no longer offers 2% cash back. Now, the Priceline Rewards Visa only offers 1% cash back, which essentially makes the card useless and not worth opening. Previously, two offers existed for the Priceline Rewards Visa. Offer 1 gave you 5,000 bonus points and 2% cash back on everything. Offer 2 gave you 10,000 bonus points and 1% cash back on everything. Both offers are gone and replaced with the new offer for 5,000 bonus points and 1% cash back on everything!     The Main Point All good things must come to an end at some point. Plastic Jungle recently closing its website is a case in point. Fortunately, other options do exist, and the Fidelity American Express still offers 2% cash back and while it pales in comparison to the old Priceline Rewards Visa, it is certainly the better card now. Barclays Arrival Credit Card: Free 44,000 Miles (~$440)

Recently, I said the Priceline Rewards Visa is hands down the best 2% cash back credit card. While I still stand by that statement, some may argue that the Barclays Arrival credit card is better. Why? The Barclays Arrival credit card is a 2.2%-ish cash back credit card with the exception that you can only get 2.2%-ish if you redeem the cash back towards travel expenses (airlines, travel agencies & tour operators, hotels, motels & resorts, cruise lines, passenger railways, and car rental agencies). In any case, the Barclays Arrival card does have a big signup bonus so if you’re about to plan your honeymoon, this card could be a perfect fit for you. [Update 5/25/13] Unfortunately, the Priceline Rewards Visa no longer offers 2% cash back. The credit card now only offers 1% cash back. [Update 2/20/14] The minimum spend requirement for the Barclays Arrival credit card has been raised from $1,000 to $3,000, which can still be easily met with a combination of normal spending and Amazon Payments.   Barclays...

Priceline Rewards Visa is the Best 2% Cash Back Credit Card

When I explained why you should open the Discover It credit card but rarely use it, I mentioned that you should open that credit card to access the ShopDiscover cash back portal plus other perks but not for the 1% cash back on spending. That’s because 2% cash back credit cards exist, and you are much better off using those credit cards if you want simple cash back rather than dealing with miles and points. In particular, there are two 2% cash back credit cards you should learn about but only one worth having. The two cards are the Priceline Rewards Visa and the Fidelity American Express, but you should only open the Priceline Rewards Visa. [Update 5/25/13] Unfortunately, the Priceline Rewards Visa no longer offers 2% cash back. The credit card now only offers 1% cash back.   Priceline Rewards Visa 5,000 points signup bonus (redeemable for $50) 2% cash back on everything 5% cash back on Priceline Name Your Own Price purchases. It’s a Visa so accepted...
