Google Shopping Express: Free $15 and 6 Months Same-Day Delivery

Previously, I wrote about how to get free two-day shipping via ShopRunner. Well, it was only a matter of time before free same-day delivery became reality. Google recently launched Google Shopping Express in San Francisco and Manhattan, and the service offers same-day delivery from a variety of retailers. That means now, we can all become more of a hermit than ever before! For a limited time, sign up for Google Shopping Express and get the service free for 6 months. After 6 months, the service will automatically expire unless you choose to renew so even if you forget that you signed up, you won’t be charged anything later on. In addition, you’ll also get $15 off your first purchase if you use my referral link; the normal signup link only gives you $10 off your first purchase. [Update 6/9/14] The special referral $15 signup bonus is no longer available, but you can still get $10 off your first purchase by signing up for Google Shopping Express through the public offer available...

Top Cash Back Offers New Payment Option with 5% Bonus

If you’ve read my introduction to cash back on everything, you know that Top Cash Back is one of my favorite cash back portals, because they tend to offer the highest cash back rates for online shopping you would normally do anyways. Now, Top Cash Back has introduced a new payment option in the form of an Amazon gift card. By choosing this option, users get a 5% bonus.   Top Cash Back and Amazon Gift Card For example, I recently decided to cash out my own Top Cash Back account, where I’ve earned $90 by simply clicking through Top Cash Back when I start my normal online shopping. I normally have Top Cash Back deposit my payment directly into my bank account. Now, however, I can choose to forgo cash and take payment in the form of an Amazon gift card. By doing so, Top Cash Back will give me a 5% Bonus.     Because the Citi Forward credit card no longer offers new cardholders 5 Thank You...

Big Savings at Amazon When Using Subscribe and Save

Lately, we’ve been buying more and more of our household supplies from Amazon rather than Even as early as college, was my go-to store, because I could save big at using five easy shopping tips. That’s all been changing as Amazon offers more diverse items, lower prices and more importantly, subscribe and save.     Introduction to Amazon Subscribe and Save Even though Amazon subscribe and save has been around for a while now, a lot of people are still not familiar with it. The basic premise is that shoppers tend to buy the same household goods on a regular basis whenever they run low on supplies. For example, you may buy a 12-pack of toilet paper every month or the same Colgate brand toothpaste every two weeks. Companies, such as Amazon, realize this and want you to keep buying from them instead of buying from them today but from next month, because of a sale. Think how profitable it would be for Amazon if you committed to...

Tips on Dealing with a Honeymoon Trip Cancellation

We were supposed to go to Aruba on Saturday and stay at the Hyatt Regency Aruba but because of the snowstorm and frigid temperatures that hit the Northeast and Midwest, our flight was delayed, delayed some more, and eventually cancelled. Quickly looking for another way to get to Aruba in the next couple of days, I realized it was near impossible. Instead, I rebooked us on a last-minute trip to Turks and Caicos leaving three days later. Unfortunately, that flight ended up being cancelled as well. As a result, I thought I’d share with you my experience on dealing with these trip cancellations. Hopefully, you’ll never have to use these tips for your honeymoon!   Aruba Trip Cancellation Our flight to Aruba was leaving from LGA (LaGuardia Airport), and we made it as far as Delta’s Terminal D :P. I will say that Terminal D looks great after the renovation not too long ago. Almost every table has an iPad with the ability to surf the Internet, check on...

Diamond Certification Advice about GIA vs EGL

A diamond engagement ring retailer contacted me the other day asking me if I would be interested in featuring their site to the readers of Wedding Spend. I’m always interested in vendors that can help readers save money and get more value so I looked over their site and reviewed it. At first glance, their prices appeared to be extremely competitive even compared to Blue Nile. Looking more closely, however, I realized their lower-cost diamonds were EGL-certified rather than GIA-certified.   GIA vs EGL A lot of people may not know about diamond certification labs (I certainly didn’t at one point), but it’s one area that should not be glossed over, as it can significantly impact the price and value of a diamond. The most common diamond certification comparison you will probably come across is GIA vs EGL. GIA stands for Gemological Institute of America while EGL stands for European Gemological Laboratory (USA), and you should be aware of some key differences between the two. Firstly, EGL certification is...

Lucrative Ebates Referral Promotion

I’ve highlighted Ebates before in my introduction to cash back on everything since cash back portals can save you lots of money whether you are planning a wedding or attending a lot of weddings. In fact, Ebates is my top pick for online cash back portals. I use Top Cash Back or another portal if the cash back rate is higher there but if the cash back rate is the same, I always go with Ebates, because of Ebate’s superior customer service. And if you haven’t signed up for Ebates already, now is the perfect time to sign up and refer your friends. As I found out from Personal Finance Digest, Ebates is currently running an Ebates referral promotion, which will allow you to earn quite a bit from referring your friends.     Ebates Referral Normally, you would earn just $5 for every friend you refer to Ebates who makes qualifying purchases. Through the current Ebates referral promotion, however, you earn a bonus for every level you hit. When you...

$30 Off $100 at Blue Nile Via Amex Sync Blue Nile

From now until 10/15/13, you can get $30 off a $100+ purchase at Blue Nile via Amex Sync Blue Nile. Earlier this week, I introduced Amex Sync and wrote about one example where you can use the current Amex Sync Best Buy deal to score free money. As a result, I won’t elaborate too much about Amex Sync again, but I will mention this fact – you can combine Amex Sync with a cash back portal, such as Top Cash Back, to get even bigger savings! For example, Top Cash Back currently gives you 10% cash back if you make a Blue Nile purchase of $499 or less. Let’s say you decided to buy a wedding ring that was $300. If you clicked through Top Cash Back AND used Amex Sync, you would get $30 from Top Cash Back (10% of $300) and a $30 statement credit from Amex Sync. $60 off a $300 purchase is a 20% saving!   Amex Sync Blue Nile If you are going to buy...

Save Big at on Household Supplies

You know by now I do almost 100% of my shopping online, because it’s convenient, it offers cash back from a portal, and it generally offers lower prices than a physical store. My friends often joke that I even buy toilet paper online, but it’s no joke – I do buy toilet paper and all my household supplies online at I’ve shopped there ever since I was in college and along the way, I’ve learned a lot of tips and tricks that when combined together, will really pile on the savings.   Tip #1 – Shop Through a Cash Back Portal If you are not familiar with cash back portals, read my introduction to cash back on everything, a tutorial on how to get cash back when shopping online. With, however, you will want to go through the cash back portal that gives you the highest cash back AND lets you take advantage of the new customer promotion for $10 off $50 for your first non-prescription order....

Save on Wedding Invitations from Invitations By Dawn

Like so many other parts of a wedding, wedding invitations are surprisingly expensive. After all, it’s just paper isn’t it? The funny thing is, if you have a wedding website, most of your guests probably won’t look at the paper invitation for more than a few seconds since they will likely RSVP online and get any necessary details from the website. Nevertheless, I understand that sending out a physical invitation is a tradition, and many couples appreciate the aesthetic nature of invitations. So if you decide to send out wedding invitations, you will have to decide if you want to do it yourself (DIY) or order invitations. And if you decide you’d rather order wedding invitations rather than deal with the hassle of DIY invitations, then you will have to decide which wedding invitation retailer offers the best value. Wedding Paper Divas is probably the best known online wedding invitations store and is certainly a popular choice, but it is also overpriced in my opinion and not a good...

Current Macy’s and Blue Nile Specials

I wanted to highlight some current specials going on right now at Macy’s and Blue Nile, which may interest some of you. For Macy’s, Ebates is currently running a special where they offer 14% cash back at certain retailers. 14% cash back would be helpful if you are looking to buy a tuxedo or suit from Macy’s at great prices. Don’t forget to buy discounted gift cards as well at Cardpool or another discounted gift card site for additional savings. Macy’s gift cards at Cardpool are currently at a 7% discount.     Blue Nile is also running a special for 10% off many platinum jewelry, including many wedding bands. Specifically, I see 230 platinum jewelry items on sale at 10% off. You have to use coupon code PLATINUM at checkout. While you normally could receive either 5% or 10% cash back at Blue Nile by using Top Cash Back, coupon code PLATINUM will void the affiliate reward. I’ve mention before that Blue Nile does that sometimes depending on...
