Top Cash Back Offers New Payment Option with 5% Bonus

If you’ve read my introduction to cash back on everything, you know that Top Cash Back is one of my favorite cash back portals, because they tend to offer the highest cash back rates for online shopping you would normally do anyways. Now, Top Cash Back has introduced a new payment option in the form of an Amazon gift card. By choosing this option, users get a 5% bonus.   Top Cash Back and Amazon Gift Card For example, I recently decided to cash out my own Top Cash Back account, where I’ve earned $90 by simply clicking through Top Cash Back when I start my normal online shopping. I normally have Top Cash Back deposit my payment directly into my bank account. Now, however, I can choose to forgo cash and take payment in the form of an Amazon gift card. By doing so, Top Cash Back will give me a 5% Bonus.     Because the Citi Forward credit card no longer offers new cardholders 5 Thank You...

Big Savings at Amazon When Using Subscribe and Save

Lately, we’ve been buying more and more of our household supplies from Amazon rather than Drugstore.com. Even as early as college, Drugstore.com was my go-to store, because I could save big at Drugstore.com using five easy shopping tips. That’s all been changing as Amazon offers more diverse items, lower prices and more importantly, subscribe and save.     Introduction to Amazon Subscribe and Save Even though Amazon subscribe and save has been around for a while now, a lot of people are still not familiar with it. The basic premise is that shoppers tend to buy the same household goods on a regular basis whenever they run low on supplies. For example, you may buy a 12-pack of toilet paper every month or the same Colgate brand toothpaste every two weeks. Companies, such as Amazon, realize this and want you to keep buying from them instead of buying from them today but from Drugstore.com next month, because of a sale. Think how profitable it would be for Amazon if you committed to...

Are You Maximizing Your Savings When Shopping on Amazon?

Amazon is one of the most popular places for wedding couples to list their registry and for wedding guests to buy registry gifts. And if you took part in the recent Amex Sync Amazon deal where you were able to buy $75 Amazon gift cards for just $50, then you’re already saving a lot of money on your wedding registry purchases. But are you maximizing your savings when shopping on Amazon by looking at all the buying options for a particular product?   Shopping on Amazon Some shoppers may not be aware, but Amazon doesn’t just sell products from Amazon. Over the years, Amazon has allowed re-sellers to  list their products, and some even have Amazon storefronts. In a way, Amazon has become like Ebay minus the auctioning aspect. In fact, Amazon has easily overtaken Ebay as the world’s largest online retailer. What this means is that when you search for a particular product, many sellers with different prices will exist, but you will have one seller picked for...

$25 Off $75 at Amazon Via Amex Sync Amazon

Amex Sync is on fire lately. Last week, I wrote about how you can get 45% off your shopping at Kmart or Sears by utilizing Amex Sync and a cash back portal. The latest deal is the Amex Sync Amazon deal where until 12/31/13, you get a $25 statement credit after spending $75 or more at Amazon. The best part is you can buy a $75 gift card (electronic or physical) and essentially get 33% off your future Amazon shopping.   Amex Sync Amazon You will of course need American Express credit cards. The more, the better, since you can get the Amex Sync Amazon deal once per American Express credit card. My wife and I have 10 American Express credit cards between us so we bought 10 $75 Amazon electronic gift cards, which essentially means our next $750 in Amazon purchases will only cost $500. Some great American Express cards to use include the American Express Starwood credit card and the American Express Starwood Business credit card. On...

Free Money from Amex Sync Best Buy Deal is Back

I can’t believe it, but the Amex Sync Best Buy deal is back until 12/31/13. Back in August, I posted about Amex Sync and the fantastic deals offered through the program. At the time, the Amex Sync Best Buy deal was offering a $25 statement credit for spending $250 or more at Best Buy. You could buy a $200 Visa gift card plus $50 in Amazon gift cards and get $25 back. In addition, you would earn a $5 Best Buy reward certificate for every $250 you spend at Best Buy. As a result, I bought the above combination with 10 different American Express credit cards and earned $250 ($25 * 10) and $50 in Best Buy reward certificates, which I used to redeem for a $50 Amazon gift card. Since the Amex Sync Best Buy deal just came back, I repeated that purchase today and bought 10 $200 Visa gift cards and 10 $50 Amazon gift cards. For step-by-step instructions on how to get the Amex Sync Best...

Proctor Silex 31111 Toaster Oven

I’ve never owned a toaster oven before so I wasn’t sure if we should buy one after we got married. As a result, I did a LOT of research on toaster ovens in the past couple of weeks taking into account price, size, and how useful each toaster oven would be. In the end, we decided on the Proctor Silex 31111 toaster oven and now that we have a toaster oven, I feel like it’s one of the greatest inventions ever!   Proctor Silex 31111 Toaster Oven The first step is deciding whether you need a toaster or a toaster oven. Given the versatility of a toaster oven and the fact that small toaster ovens are not much more expensive than toasters, I think a toaster oven is an easy choice assuming you have the counter space for it. Next, you’ll have to decide how big a toaster oven you want. If you want one that is very capable but does not hog up counter space, the Proctor Silex...

Bose Soundlink Mini

A Bluetooth wireless speaker is probably not what you imagine as a newlywed must-have. I think, however, that it is perfect for newlyweds and has many use. When watching movies on my computer or on the TV, I simply carry the speaker with me and place it right by where I’m sitting. By doing so, I don’t have to blast the sound from across the room and disturb my wife who is working at her desk nearby. Having a movable speaker also allows us to stream music from our computers in the living room to our bedroom. I’m weird and often like to sleep to noise, whether that is music or a sermon. Having said that, many Bluetooth wireless speakers exist, but the Bose Soundlink Mini is truly in a class of its own.   Bose Soundlink Mini I think many people consider Bose to be synonymous with high-end audio, and it’s easy to see why. The sound from the Bose Soundlink Mini is crystal clear; keep in mind...

Using Amazon Payments to Meet Minimum Spend Requirements for Credit Card Bonuses

In a previous post, I discussed how you can use Amazon Payments to cash out of wedding gift cards. While I mentioned you can use Amazon Payments with credit cards as well, I don’t think I was clear in emphasizing the main point: sending money on Amazon Payments with credit cards is how you can easily meet the minimum spend requirements to unlock the big credit card signup bonuses. Besides cashing out gift cards, Amazon Payments is also great for credit cards. You can use Amazon Payments to generate manufactured spending to meet the minimum spend requirements that many credit card signup bonuses have. Of course, you can also use Amazon Payments to generate manufactured spending for free airline miles and points. One of the best credit cards to use for this purpose is the Barclays Arrival credit card, which offers a fantastic 44,000 miles signup bonus and low minimum spend requirement, which can be easily met with one Amazon Payments account.   The Main Point For a step-by-step...

Sauder Deco Panel TV Stand

The next item that I highly recommend for newlyweds is the Sauder deco panel TV stand. Even if you are planning to hang your TV on the wall, you will probably need a TV stand for discs, a DVD or Blu-ray player, and other electronics. Unfortunately, a TV stand is in my opinion a really hard item to shop for. Prices vary wildly from rock bottom to way overpriced but so does the quality. After reading many reviews and actually buying one myself, I think the Sauder deco panel TV stand offers tremendous value for a high-quality TV stand.   Sauder Deco Panel TV Stand Many cheap TV stands are made of particle boards, which could warp over time when a TV is placed on top, but the Sauder deco panel TV stand is constructed using a steel frame and three tempered glass shelves. The result is a very stylish look without sacrificing durability. At the same time, the design is well thought out with easy access from the...

Simplehuman Adjustable Tension Shower Caddy

Last time, I discussed the Seville Classics Laundry Sorter and how it was a great laundry hamper/sorter for newlyweds especially in New York City where the washer and dryer are probably not directly in your apartment. Today, I’m going to talk about another top-notch item that I highly recommend for your wedding registry or as a gift for a friend getting married; it’s the Simplehuman adjustable tension shower caddy.   Simplehuman Adjustable Tension Shower Caddy Showers and bathtubs are notorious for not having enough shelf space. If it’s just one person, the situation is manageable but with two people, it quickly gets out of hand. At the same time, it can be difficult installing brackets and shelves in the shower, because the walls are different so unless you own the place, drilling in the shower could result in fines by the landlord later on down the road. Enter the Simplehuman adjustable tension shower caddy. It’s made of aluminum and stainless steel so it doesn’t rust unlike many cheaper options out...
