Trip Review: What to Eat in Washington DC

We recently stayed three nights at the Park Hyatt Washington and was able to try a range of restaurants in the city. While I can’t think of any food that Washington D.C. specializes in, we really enjoyed the food in the city. As a result, I thought I’d share with you ideas on what to eat in Washington DC.   What to Eat in Washington DC We liked the free breakfast at Blue Duck Tavern that was included in our stay since the menu items were quite varied and different from what you might see on typical breakfast menus. Dishes, such as Maryland crab with scrambled egg whites and short rib hash, were all fantastic. The restaurants we went for dinner were all great as well, and we particularly enjoyed Estadio, which was recommended by my friend who lives in Washington D.C.     The Main Point Washington D.C. has a great selection of restaurants that will satisfy your taste buds. Just a quick tip for those of you...

Men’s Wearhouse Tuxedo Review and Missing Carolina

Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates lately as I’ve been away. For the past week, my wife and I were in Tokyo, one of my favorite cities, and Hiroshima where we spent a fantastic day in sleepy Miyajima. Prior to that, however, we first visited Charlotte for our friend’s wedding, which was beautiful and the second most memorable wedding I’ve attended after my own. As best man, I delivered my best man speech and also suited up in a Men’s Wearhouse tuxedo for the first time. Previously, I wrote a negative review of Men’s Wearhouse, and a reader in the comments called me out for reviewing a product I never personally used. As a result, I thought I’d give a Men’s Wearhouse tuxedo review now that I’ve finally worn one.     Men’s Wearhouse Tuxedo Review After wearing a Men’s Wearhouse Calvin Klein tuxedo, I must say I was partially incorrect about the actual tuxedo and comfort quality but stand by my negative criticism of their price. As...

Writing a Great Best Man Speech

In a couple of days, one of my longtime friends is tying the knot and as best man, I’ll be giving a best man speech, which should not only cause the audience to kneel over in laughter but also emote immeasurable joy. It’s especially a daunting task, because my friend was also my best man when I got married last July, and his speech was pretty close to what I described. I’m happy to say that I’ve written an acceptable speech over the past month or so and in the process, I’ve also learned a few pointers. As a result, I thought I’d share with you some advice on writing a great best man speech.   Tip #1 – Write for the Bride and Groom, not the Audience I think we often associate a great best man speech with one that elicits a response from the audience. In doing so, it’s easy to lose focus on why you are giving a best man speech in the fast place. The speech...

Hotel Review: Park Hyatt Washington Park Executive Suite

Recently, my wife and I decided to visit Washington D.C. for the opening weekend of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. We’re going to Japan in a few weeks and thought it would be great to get a sneak peek of the cherry blossoms here. While the trees haven’t bloomed yet due to the delayed Spring, we still had a great time in the city. Washington D.C. can be quite scenic and full of culture during this time of the year, and our stay at the Park Hyatt Washington Park Executive Suite was fantastic. During our Segway tour, we also met a British couple who were on their honeymoon so while it’s not your typical honeymoon destination, Washington D.C. can be a romantic place. If you do decide to visit Washington D.C., I highly recommend staying at the Park Hyatt Washington.     How You Can Do It The Park Hyatt Washington is a category 6 hotel on the Hyatt Gold Passport chart, so a standard room will cost 25,000...
