Free Commuting with the Barclays Arrival Credit Card
As you know, I think the Barclays Arrival credit card is one of the best cards out there since you can get 44,000 miles for free (worth ~$440) as a signup bonus; the card also comes with other perks, such as a 10% rebate on the miles you redeem and no foreign exchange fees. In addition, I’ve highlighted how easy it is to redeem part of the 44,000 miles signup bonus for travel charges.
Even if you don’t travel, however, you can use it for everyday commuting expenses so the signup bonus is practically as good as cash. For example, I recently refilled my NYC MTA MetroCard for $25 and a few days later, I was given the option to redeem my Barclays Arrival bonus miles against that charge.
The Main Point
You can redeem your Barclays Arrival bonus miles against ANY travel charges and sometimes, it’s easy to forget that commuting is traveling. So whether you need to commute via the NYC subway system, the San Francisco BART, or the Boston T, you can get at least $440 worth of free commuting by signing up for the Barclays Arrival credit card.
