Honeymoon Trip Review: What to Eat in Kauai
By now, you’ve probably read my reviews on the Grand Hyatt Kauai regarding the Deluxe Ocean View Room, the amenities at the resort, and the Grand Hyatt Kauai luau. If you haven’t read those posts and are interested in staying at one of the best resorts in Kauai for free, please go back and take a look. In the next two posts, I’ll cover Kauai activities outside of the Grand Hyatt Kauai. Let’s start with what to eat in Kauai.
What to Eat in Kauai
The Grand Hyatt Kauai is located on the South Shore of Kauai and because of that, most of the restaurants and shops we hit up the first few days were located near the south. We did spend one day at the famous North Shore, however, and enjoyed the food and sweets in that area as well. To be honest, Kauai is not that big so whichever part you do end up staying at won’t prevent you from easily driving to one of the recommended spots below. Indulge your taste buds!
The Main Point
If you ever find yourself wondering what to eat in Kauai, drive to one of the places above, and you won’t be disappointed. Previously, I would have also recommended using the Citi Forward credit card to pay for your eating adventure, because the card used to give 5 Thank You Points per $ spent on dining. That is no longer the case, however, so instead I recommend you use the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card and/or the Barclays Arrival credit card. The Chase Sapphire Preferred gives 2 Ultimate Rewards points per $ spent on dining while the Barclays Arrival credit card gives 2 miles per $ spent period. Both cards are also perfect for planning a honeymoon in Hawaii. I used the signup bonus from those credit cards to get a free Deluxe Ocean View Room at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and a free convertible for a week.
When opening credit cards for big bonuses, however, just remember to be financially responsible and pay off your credit card balances every month, cancel the credit cards before the annual fee hits, and use Amazon Payments to meet credit card minimum spending requirements rather than actually spend any money.
