Wedding Hair and Makeup Cost: Sachiko Hair and Makeup

If I had to pick one hair and makeup artist that I think every Asian bride in NYC wants, it has to be Sachiko Yanase of Sachiko Hair and Makeup. I guess it’s not surprising given her incredibly low prices compared to her peers. At the same time, her work quality is amongst the best. Basically, the only negative comment to make about Sachiko Hair and Makeup is that she is always booked! If you are considering Sachiko for your wedding day and she is available, I would book her ASAP.

The Main Point

Previously, I’ve discussed some of the other popular Asian hair and makeup artists including the following: Reiko Utsugi, Ai Sakai, Nam Vo, Sissi Chan. For the most part, their prices are all in the same ballpark as one another. Sachiko Hair and Makeup’s prices, however, are a different story. At $1,250 for a similar package as the others, Sachiko Hair and Makeup is $358 lower than Reiko Utsugi, whose $1,608 estimate is the next lowest out of this group. Compared to Ai Sakai during the peak season, which has the highest price of the list, Sachiko Hair and Makeup is $729.35 lower. That is a 28.6% to 58.3% saving!

But that analysis is just from a price standpoint. If Sachiko Hair and Makeup offered lower-quality service or work, it would make sense, but her reviews are always at least as good. Many times, reviews about Sachiko Yanase are even better than that of her peers, and brides simply can’t say enough compliments about their experience with Sachiko Hair and Makeup. Read for yourself her 35 perfect reviews over at Wedding Wire.

I estimate $50 worth of travel fees since she states that her package cost does not include parking and toll fees. Similar to previous hair and makeup artist reviews, I based her engagement shoot fee on her trial fee of $100 for two hours. She does offer a three-hour trial for $130 if that is of interest to you. Three hours sounds a bit long to me but hey, what do I know! As mentioned in the beginning, she is insanely popular and as a result, constantly booked. You will want to contact her as early as possible to lock in a date. If you are successful, consider yourself lucky, because my fiancé and several of her friends all could not secure a date with Sachiko Hair and Makeup.
