Wedding Band Cost: Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio
The last time I discussed wedding band cost, I talked about two of NYC’s most popular bands, The Engagements Cover Band and The Affections. Naturally, they were a bit on the pricy side given how popular they are. But you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot to book a quality band. Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio receive great reviews online and are quite affordable. Most importantly, they produce great music.
Wedding Band: Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio
Date Price Quoted: January 2013
Wedding Date Quoted For: July 2013 (Saturday)
Price Assumptions: 4 to 6 hours for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception
Band Fee: $2,800
Travel Fee: $0 (non-specified for outside the NYC area)
Total Wedding Band Cost: $2,800
The Main Point
$2,800 includes ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. If you only need Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio to play part of your wedding, it will cost less. For example, booking the band for just the reception part of your wedding will cost $2,200, $600 less than the full price. Having them play both the cocktail hour and reception, on the other hand, will run $2,700. And while their core band consists of four members (vocal, keys, bass, drums), you can add band members to play the saxophone, a guitar, or a trumpet for additional cost. They are easy to work with so you should be able to agree on a price that fits your needs.
Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio are a jazzy band, which I think fits perfectly for all types of wedding, unless you’re going for a heavy metal theme of some sort! Their website has video samples, audio samples, and a song list for you to browse through. From my communication with them, it sounds like they are very willing to learn new songs if you have any special requests, such as the song for the first dance. I know not all bands are willing to do that. In the end, we didn’t end up booking Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio, but they were one we really considered especially given their reasonable prices.
