Using Guerrilla Mail to Get Discount Coupons

I’m sure you’ve experienced this scenario before: you’re shopping online at a retailer and you see a message saying something along the lines of, “submit your email and get a special signup bonus!” All of a sudden, you’re torn because on one hand, if you sign up and get the discount coupon, the store will have your email address and spam you. On the other hand, if you don’t sign up for the discount coupon, you’ll pay more, which is unnecessary. Fortunately, a better solution exists, and it’s called Guerrilla Mail.

I first heard about Guerrilla Mail a year or so ago when I came across this article on Lifehacker. Basically, Guerrilla Mail is a temporary email address service that can exist up to an hour. You pick an email address with the domain guerrillamail.com then to delete the account, you just hit the “forget me” button or the email account will self-delete an hour later. It’s super easy to use.

Example

Let’s say you want to get the email signup bonus code for The Gap, which is $15 off if you spend at least $75 or more.

Step 1: Go to http://www.guerrillamail.com and select your email address. In this example, I selected the user name freegapcoupon.

Step 2: Use that email to sign up for the discount coupon on Gap’s website.

Step 3: Voila! Less than a minute later, you will get the discount coupon email in your Guerilla Mail inbox. Use the coupon when shopping at Gap and afterwards, simply hit “forget me” to delete that Guerrilla Mail inbox.

The Main Point

As always, don’t forget to go through a cash back portal when shopping and utilize discounted gift cards when possible. Guerrilla Mail will be another good tool for you to use in combination with those two as it will let you quickly get special discount coupons without giving up your personal information or real email address to be spammed.

Disclaimer: I receive referral credit for some of the links above if you sign up through them, which I appreciate
